Born in Warsaw, she was a Psychiatric Aid with Fort Wayne Development Center for 39 years, retiring in 1996 and was a member of New Hope Community Church. Survivors include nephews, Jeff Hull, Terry (Joyce) Hull both of Columbia City, Mike Neer of Pierceton, Larry Hamman of Ohio; nieces, Johanna Wade of Warsaw, Shirley Hamman and Patty Davis both of Ohio; good friend and caregiver, Ruth and Leo Hile of Fort Wayne; adopted mother, Helen Boggs of Swanton, OH; preceded in death by her husband Billy Smith in 1989; two brothers and 3 sisters. Service 10 a.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Calling 2 to 5 and 7 to 9pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery.
