Albert E. Becker Sr., 78, of 130 Pennwood Road, died Saturday at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Nora G. Good Becker.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 700 E. Market St. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
There will be a viewing Monday at the Shindler Funeral Home, 915 N. Duke St., from 7 to 9 p.m. There will also be viewing Tuesday at the church beginning one hour before the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Mr. Becker was born in Manchester Township, a son of the late William and Amelia Berkheimer Becker. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, the Friendly Senior’s group of the church, and the men’s Bible class of the Sunday school.
A life member of the Reliance Fire Company, Mr. Becker was a retired employee of the Wiest Motor Co. where he served for many years as the service manager.
Since leaving Wiest, he has been associated with a firm owned by his brother, Becker’s Wood Products.
Mr. Becker was also a member of the Southeast Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons, the Lincolnway Fire Company, the York Chapter of the Isaac Walton League of America, and the York County Firemen’s Association.
Surviving also are two sons, A. Eugene Becker Jr., Media, and Ronald W. Becker, 4314 Briarwood Court; six grandchildren; two great–grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Florence Zech, 1626 Monroe St.; and two brothers, harvey [sic] J. Becker, Red Lion, and Curvin E. Becker, 459 Carlisle Ave.
His pastor, the Rev. Glenn A. Pearson, will conduct the services.
