Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Louise, in 2007, son, Danny Hayes, daughter, Rena Stout; three brothers, Wilbur, J.R. and James Edward Hayes, three sisters, Pauline Merrell, Jessie Norris and Elnore Bays, and one great-granddaughter, Madison Hayes.
He is survived by a daughter, Rosa Cranor of Springfield, Missouri; three sons, Tom (Nancy) Hayes of Marshfield; Ron (Brenda) Hayes of Marshfield; and Bill (Cindi) Hayes of Niangua; seventeen grandchildren, thirty eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, other relatives and many friends.
