Joan E. Franklin, 72 of Midland, died Wednesday morning, September 11, 2013 at the MidMichigan Gladwin Pines. She was born on July 2, 1941 in Midland, daughter of the late Harold and Evelyn (Rayl) Bowers.
She attended Midland Schools, graduating from Midland High School. Joan worked at The Dow Chemical Co. for many years, retiring from there in 1993. After retirement she enjoyed taking care of and playing with all of her animals.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, two sisters-in-law: Rose Bowers and Yvonne Bowers, and by her two beloved dogs, Laddie and Tag.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler Street.
Burial will be in Larkin Township Cemetery.
Joan's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
