Eleanor R. (Miller) Hutchinson, 93, of Columbus, formally of Lebanon,passed away on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at Four Seasons Health Care Center in Columbus. She was born on Nov, 7, 1919, in Anderson, to John D. and Blanche K. (Wiggerly) Miller. She graduated in 1937 from Anderson High School and in 1942 from Purdue University with a BA in Home Economics. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. On Jan. 31, 1953, she married Robert F. Hutchinson in Lebanon. They had two children, a daughter Anne E. (Larry) Moore of Columbus, and a son Alan D. Hutchinson. Both of her parents, her husband, her son and a sister Jean A. (Miller) Jasch preceded her in death. Her daughter, a grandson Michael A. Moore and a great grandson Jeffrey B. Moore, both of Columbia, M.D., and a sister Barbara J. (Miller) McLain of Fishers, survive. Eleanor taught Home Economics at Speedway High School after college, and then moved to Lebanon. She enjoyed world travel, reading and playing golf and bridge with her friends at the Ulen Country Club in Lebanon. She was a past Elder and a member of the Friendship Circle at the First United Presbyterian Church in Lebanon, a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, and active in many local clubs. In Dec. 2012, after a serious illness, she moved to Columbus to be near her daughter. Visitation is planned for Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church, 128 E. Main St., Lebanon. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church with Rev. Terri Thorn presiding. Entombment is at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon. Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the First United Presbyterian Church in Lebanon.
