Retired at the time of his death, he had been a deputy sheriff for Washington County, a Painter at the UofA physical plant, a self employed painter and marshall of the city of Farmington. He was an avid sports fan and loved to hunt, fish, barter, play cards and dominoes.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Hershel Ray and James Alvin; one sister Saundra Lankford.
Survivors include his son Jeffery D. Lankford; 5 daughters, Sherry Brehm and Karen Williams and Camille Jones of Fayetteville, Tamara Nelson of Monticello and Michelle Lankford Williams of Rogers; one brother Leroy Lankford of Fayetteville; 4 sisters, LaVaughn Hammond of Farmington, Donna Bailey of Fayetteville, Pat Gideon of Prairie Grove and Marge Lankford of Fayetteville.
Funeral was at the Wedington Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Misenheimer officiating. Luginbuel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
