Neil Ankrom Obituary

Neil Ankrom, son of Arthur and Eliza Ankrom, was born in Tyler County, West Virginia, on November 1, 1837, and died at the home of his son, Jesse, near Gazette, Missouri, on October 28, 1919, at the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 27 days.

He was married on April 23, 1862, to Mary E. McCoy. To this union was born eight children: Josie Blackshaw and James L, of Cheney, Washington, Arthur T., of Mexico, Missouri, Mrs. Lizzie Jones of Middletown, Mrs. Mary Pettenger of Bellflower, Missouri, Mrs. Leola Reed of Montgomery City, Eliza, who preceded him to the grave some 20 years ago, and Jesse W. with whom he made his home. They moved to Missouri in 1867 where they have since resided.

When quite young he was converted and united with the M. E. Church and he remained a faithful and consistent member.

Besides his children, he leaves one sister, Mrs. Catherine Cunningham; three brothers, James and Louis of Tyler County, Rodney of Middletown, Missouri, and twenty-one grandchildren. His wife preceded him to the other shore, departing this life on April 1, 1917. The community extends deep and heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved.
