A memorial service will be held for Christine La Verne Wolfe, 63, of Reedsport at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, at the Assembly of God Church, 509 N. 19th St. in Reedsport.

Christine was born Oct. 2, 1944, in Astoria, to Norman and La Verne (Guisinger) Miller. She died June 13, 2008, in Eugene, of pulmonary fibrosis.

She grew up in the Rainier area, attending Delena Elementary School and graduating from Rainier High School in 1962.

She met the love of her life, James Leroy Wolfe, and on June 6, 1964 they were married. They had two sons and a daughter.

Christine began teaching small children in Sunday school at the age of 15 and for many years afterward, she and her husband, Jim, were workers in Children's Church Ministries. She loved little children and was a loving child care giver in her home in Reedsport for many years.

Christine and Jim loved traveling, taking their family and many times another child to many places of interest throughout the United States. After retirement, they loved traveling in their motor home to Arizona for the winter and camping out on the Rogue or Umpqua rivers with their grandchildren during the summer.

Christine is survived by her husband, Jim Wolfe; son, Kevin and wife, Sheryl; son, Bryan and friend, Sally King of Springfield; daughter, Valerie and husband, Jeremy Richards of Coos Bay; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Zackery Wolfe of Vancouver, Wash., Brittany and Allen Larkin of Coos Bay, Ryan and James Wolfe of Coquille and Morgann Cobb and Andrew and Tyler Richards of Coos Bay; her parents, Norman and La Verne Miller of Reedsport; sisters, Ruthie Hainey of Portland, and Cheryl Rittierodt of Fort Mohave, Ariz.; brother, Ron Miller of North Bend; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a great host of friends.

She will be missed greatly by her family and friends, but her love an memory will always be there with them.
