Father Claus Hinrich Clodius & Margaretha Boehmsen (Germany)

William Clodius 76, was born in Germany 1858, and came to America in 1874, settling at Minonk, Illinois, where he married in 1880 Grace Ludeman. The following year they move to Nebraska and came west to Rtizville in 1906. Mr. Clodius had resided here continuously until he passed away last week. Mrs. Clodius died in 1917.

Deceased is survived by five children; Henry, Mrs. Anna Oestreich, William and Mrs. Lena Sellars all of Ritzville and Mrs. Emma Clemmie of Kelso, as well as the widow by a second marriage, Mrs. M. B. Clodius of Seattle, 15 grandchildren and two step-children.

The funeral was held from the Haight chapel Saturday, the service being in charge of the I.O.O.F. Interment was in the Ritzville cemtery.

Mr Clodius served as assessor of Adams county and was for many years prominent in the ranks of the democratic party.

Ritzville Journal Times December 28, 1933 Courtsey of Sue Gardner & gapwork 90.

2nd spouse was Mayme Brown Jarnagin whom he married November 14, 1919 in St. Marie, Kottenai County Idaho.

Gapwork is adding this information, you do not have to put it all on, but to back up the documentation. Marriage record registered in Idaho. Found the maiden name Brown on the birth record of her son Albert Jarnagin born in Spokane 1911, her death record is Calif. She also had a daughter Alice Mary Jarnagin born 1914. The 1920 census shows the children with their father's name, however, 1930 census shows them with name Clodius, however obit does not refer to them as being "adopted."

I do think the second marriage should be acknowledged in some way.
