She was preceded in death by two loving husbands, John E. Haas and John M. Wray Jr., parents, Margaret and Ashby Clowdis of Lynchburg.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Haas Davis and John E. Haas Jr. and his wife, Nicole, Anne-Marie Wray and her husband, Stuart Rhodes and Markie Trent and her husband, Danny; brother, Lewis Ashby Clowdis Jr. and his wife, Catherine; grandchildren, Margaret Davis Kite and her husband, Bob, Katherine Ashby Davis, Kelsey Rebecca Haas, Caleb and Jessica Trent, Matt, Marc, Luke, Jon, Stephen, Caroline, Jessie and Sheryl Rhodes, great-grandchildren, Ashton and Bo Kite and her special girl, Holly.
Rebecca was born and raised in Lynchburg, Va., graduated from Brookville High School and the Virginia Baptist Nursing School. She was a long-time member of the Bon Air Community Association and Willow Oaks Country Club where she played tennis and socialized with her many friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bliley's Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. A graveside ceremony will be held 2 p.m. Friday in Spring Hill Cemetery in Lynchburg.
The family would like to send a special thanks to her loving and constant companion and caregiver, Cookie, and as well as the staff of the Crossings at Bon Air. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crestwood Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity.
