Stella Maxine Walker, 84 of Washington, died Friday, September 13, 2013 in the Donnell House of a stroke. She was a 25 year Kidney Transplant Survivor.

She was born, June 14, 1929 in Buffalo Township, the daughter of Wraymond Lyle and Alice Risher Lyle.

Stella was a homemaker and worked at Kennedy Drug Store, the doughnut shop on Chestnut Street and G.C. Murphy's for a short time.

She was a member of West Washington United Methodist Church and a graduated from Washington High School in 1948.

Stella enjoyed setting up in the Alpine and Claysville Flea Markets, trips to Mehlmans Cafeteria in St. Clairsville, OH. She was an East Buffalo 4-H leader, a life long Pirates Fan and a member of the Homemakers Group in Buffalo Township.

On September 11, 1948 she married David Walker who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Sharon (Walter) Cox of West Alexander, Becky (Paul) Carson of East Finley, Stacy (Tredd) Barton of West Alexander; a brother, John (Lois) of Burgettstown; two sisters, Esther Gump and Doris Iseman both of Washington; five grandchildren, Tricia (Bobby) Coons, Chad (Julie) Cox, Laurie Carson, Benjamin and Megan Bonus; four great grandchildren.

Deceased are two brothers, Raymond and Merle Lyle; two sisters, Florence Tush and Alice Elizabeth Mitchell.

At the request of the deceased there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held Monday at Claysville Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington.
