Mr. Tom McKinney was a deacon in the First Baptist Church at Winnfield where he served as song leader for Adult III Sunday School Department for 29 years. He made numerous musical contributions to the church program.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Calvin McKinney and Martha Heflin McKinney; and his wife, Ella Louise Peevy McKinney, who died in 1962.

He was survived by a son, Herman C. McKinney of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Mrs. Lucille White of Winnfield; one sister, Mrs. W. M. Smith of Hall Summitt; one brother, Hill McKinney of Jena; 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
