John Terence "Terry the Tramp" Tracy Born Dec. 22 1939 Died February 1970

A seminal figure in late 60's Northern California scenes, Terry was considered a true Hell's Angel. His insight and experiences helped with the writing of Hunter S. Thompson's book "Hells Angels" in 1966. The two remained friends until "Tramps" death. "Tramp" was well known among the be-in's and 'happenings' of the San Francisco scenes of the time. He later became known for his fairly large speaking role in the 1969 film 'Hells Angels '69" -which also featured Hells Angels from the original Oakland chapter as well as Nomads and others. "Tramp" transferred back to the 'Berdoo' chapter along with some other members who were not happy with the "no-needles" rule of the Oakland chapter. "Tramp" died in February of 1970 of an over-dose of Seconal. He was only 30 years old.
