Bennett M. Underwood was born 17 April 1807 at Marlboro, Windham County, Vermont, son of Thaddeus Underwood (1760-1840) and Mary Farr Underwood (1766-1842). He died 18 March 1878 at Ashley, Stearns County, Minnesota and was presumably buried at the Ashley Cemetery in a grave that is unmarked.
