Elaine Joyce Booth, 93 passed away in her sleep on Friday, September 13th 2013 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.


She was born May 27th 1920 in Granton, WI to Bert and Edith (Sparks) Todd. She grew up and graduated in 1937 in Granton. She went to a two year teachers college at Wood County Normal. She taught grade school in one room country schools in the Chili area until her marriage to Wayne Booth, September 11th 1943 in Sherwood, Wisconsin. He sadly passed away on September 25, 2005.


Elaine and Wayne farmed in the Cumberland, Plainfield and Chili Areas for 45 years before moving into Chili. After her husband Wayne passed away she spent her last 8 years in an apartment in Marshfield, living independently.

She loved having family around her, and was happy to be caring for them. When she was younger she loved spending time in the garden and doing yard work. In her later years she enjoyed reading and watching videos and writing stories about her family life and spending time with her great-grand children, and her great-great-grandson. She had strong Christian Faith and loved doing things for her Lord.

She is survived by daughter Gayle (Bruce) Kemnitz, grandchildren Dwayne (Margaret) Booth, Danise (Steve) Taylor, Dan (Bobbie)Booth and Kathy Kemnitz, grandson-in-law Eric Licciardi, great-grandchildren Rick (Melissa) Pahl, Lisa (Karl) Krievins, Katie (Eric) Heiden, Elizabeth, Rebekah and Hannah Taylor, Caleb and Gideon Smith and great-great grandson Mason Heiden. She is further survived by her sisters Maxine (Lyle) Cattanach, Rebecca Mueller, sisters-in–law Mavis Todd, Ruthie Todd and Lucille Wood, and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Booth, son Darryl, and grand daughter Kristy Licciardi, parents Bert and Edith Todd, sister Mildred and brother-in-law Lyle Cary, brothers Bob and Russell Todd and brother-in-law Ed Mueller, in-laws Lavern and Clifford Larson, Russell and Wilma Booth, Francis Wood and Silas Booth Jr.

Visitation are planned for Sunday the September 15th from 1:00 pm. to 6:00pm at Rembs Funeral Home Marshfield and again on Monday at Our Father's House in Chili from 10:00am until time of service.
Memorial services will be 11:00am Monday, September 16, 2013 at Our Father's House, Chili with Pastor Ron Johnson officiating. Graveside services at Yolo Cemetery.
