Rosemary Reed, age 82, of Howard, passed away on Thursday September 12, 2013 at the Country Club Retirement Campus. She was born on March 16, 1931 in Mount Vernon to the late Cecil and Eula (Burchett) Hayes. Rosemary was a dedicated homemaker and loving wife. She was a member of the Grace Brethren Church in Danville in the past, where she was very active and involved. Rosemary also attended the God's Eternal Love and Fellowship church in Newcastle, Ohio. She loved her flowers gardens, gospel music, Ohio State buckeyes, but most of all she loved and enjoyed her family. She did not know a stranger and loved to talk and help anyone out that needed it.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years James F. Reed; son James K. (Jean) Reed of Howard, OH; two grandchildren, Mike (Heidi) Conkle of Mount Vernon, OH, Wendy (Dave) Swigert of Coshocton, OH; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother Bill (Linda) Hayes of Clearwater, FL; two sisters Betty Jo (Richard) Converse of Ft. Mill, SC, and Pamela McKinney of Shelby, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will observe calling hours on Monday September 16, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm with a service the next day, officiated by Pastor Sharon Kirch at 11:00 am on Tuesday September 17, 2013 at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, OH, burial to follow in Amity Cemetery, Amity, OH.
