Enlistment date was October 15, 1914, he was Discharged on February 28, 1919 as a Captain in the 63rd Coast Artillery.
Parents were-Father-Robert Nelson Miller, Senior, Mother-Helen S. Fisher Miller.
Spouse-Bernice Miller was born about 1899 in Nebraska. Of this union, they had two children-Belly M. Miller born about 1922 in Washington, and Patricia H. Miller born about 1924 in Iowa.

FUNERAL RITES CONDUCTED FOR ROBERT MILLER--Masonic services were held Wednesday, May 24, for Robert Miller of Mount Vernon who died May 22 of a heart attack at his place of employment in Anacortes.
Robert Nelson Miller was born June 16, 1893, near Springfield, Clark County, Ohio to Robert Nelson Miller Senior and Helen S. Fisher.
In 1918, he married Bernice Howard, daughter of the late W. T. Howard, former editor of the Island County Times of Coupeville.
He served as a Captain in the Coast Guard Artillery in World War 1.
WELL KNOWN
Mr. Miller made his home in Coupeville for many years serving as a United States Rural mail carrier, and later as proprietor of the B & B Confectionary, moving to Mount Vernon in December, 1943.
He was a member of the American Legion and a Master Mason.
Surviving, at the time of his death, were his widow- Bernice Miller, who later re-married; a sister-Miss May B. Miller of Springfield, Ohio; a brother-Foster Miller of Indiana; three daughters-Mrs. Michael Criscuola, Miss Betty Miller, and Mrs. Leonard Brown; and three grandchildren, Victoria, Michael and Noel Criscuola.
