Bruce D. Hansen 1942 ~ 2011 Bruce D. Hansen passed awayAugust 3, 2011 from complications due to cancer. Bruce was born May 5, 1942 to Francis L. Hansen and Nola Cox Hansen. He was the third of seven children. He attended Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966. He served in Special Services during the Vietnam War. He worked at KCC for 27 1/2 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was able to retire at the age of 44. He then was able to pursue his love of horses, breaking, training, showing and standing his beloved stallions. He also enjoyed traveling. Above all he was able to be active in his children and grandchildren's lives. His grandchildren were amazed at his skill at hide and go seek. He always found the best places to hide. He would never miss a day to have coffee with his friends at the LDS. His sole purpose in life was to harass and tease and have a good time. Bruce married Sherrie Pappas in 1968. He is survived by son James (Teresa) Hansen and daughter Heidi Hansen, grandchildren Alexandra, Carson and Amanda Hansen, siblings Claudia (Merlin), Don (Sally), Kent (Dorothy), Keith (Sheila), Craig, Brent (Chris), and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
