Eric Jorgensen, 51, of Paola, KS., passed away at Olathe Medical Center surrounded by his loving family on Friday September 13, 2013. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend to everyone he met.

Eric was born on January 31, 1962 in Springfield, IL. He attended and graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. He also attended Emporia State College where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business. Eric worked as a Customer Development Manager for Ryder Truck Rental Company. He kept himself involved with his two sons and their sporting events. Together they enjoyed watching KU basketball, football and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Eric is preceded in death by his brother Lance Jorgensen who passed away in 2005, and mother-in-law Nancy Tye. Survivors include his wife of 24 years Sue (Tye) Jorgensen and two sons Dalton and Chase Jorgensen. Eric is also survived by his father Gerald C. Jorgensen of Silvis, IL., mother Josephine Stranimier and her husband Frank of Shawnee, KS. and brother Scott Jorgensen and his wife Carol of Moline, IL. Left behind to cherish his memory are his two nieces Brittany Jorgensen and Claire Norris. He is also survived by his six nephews Jeremy Jorgensen, Kyle Norris, Michael and Matthew Giarraputo and Brayden and Nathan Paris. Eric will be greatly missed by all who knew him and remembered forever in our hearts.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 11311 Johnson Dr. Shawnee, KS. Entombment will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum 8321 Quivera Rd. Lenexa, KS. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the McGilley-Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula St. Olathe, KS. The Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the visitation at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society .
