Randy J. McKay, 64, of Effingham, IL, formerly of Beecher City, IL, passed away at 10:05 AM Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, in his home.
Randy was born Nov. 2, 1948, in Effingham, IL the son of Max and Louise Koester McKay.
Randy was a truck driver and member of the Teamsters Union. He retired in 2010. He, also, loved farming and helped his brother, Dan, on the family farm.
Randy served his country in the United States National Guard.
He was a devoted fan of the Chicago Bears and NASCAR. He enjoyed attending tractor pulls and sporting events, especially, those of his beloved nephews. He also was a member of the Elks Club and American Legion Post # 120 both of Effingham.
Surviving are his mother, Louise McKay of Beecher City; brother Dan and wife Rita of Beecher City; four nephews: Jason, Darin, Tyler and Blake.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Max McKay.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, in St. Mary's Catholic Church of Shumway, IL. Father David Hoefler will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 PM Thursday in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Shumway. Memorials may be given in Randy`s memory to the Donor's Choice.
