Bartley L Burris was shot and killed in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas on 17 June 1884 by Richard E. Bradley. Bradley was jealous over the attentions Burris was receiving from the notorious prostitute Cyclone (real name Mary Alice Shockley).
