Florence Adelaide Hanson, age 95, of River Falls, WI formerly of Beldenville, WI passed away peacefully January 29, 2015 at the River Falls Area Hospital. She was born March 15, 1919 to Arthur and Nora (Erlandson) Nelson. She graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1937. Growing up she was a 4-H club member, she became Pierce County’s first dairy queen and won a trip to the Wisconsin state fair. Florence attended River Falls State Teachers College for one year. She graduated from Paul’s Cosmetology & Hairdressing in Minneapolis. She worked in Red Wing as a beautician and later became the manager of June’s Beauty Shop. Later in her life she worked for Hudson House for 20 years.

On July 20, 1946 Florence was united in marriage to Randolph Hanson at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she was a long time member. She taught Sunday School for many years and was an active member of the ALCW.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Nora; brothers, Harley, Glenn, Clifford; sisters, Grace Nelson, and Arlene Beale.

Surviving her are her son, Jerry & wife Jan Hanson of Morrison, CO; daughter, Sarah Hanson and husband Nick Dvoracek of Oshkosh, WI; granddaughter, Shelley Hanson of Lakewood, CO; grandson, Andy Hanson-Dvoracek of Boston, MA; great-grandsons, Evan and Birk Hanson-Strickfaden; brother, Bob Nelson of Ellsworth, WI; many nieces and nephews.

Andy Hanson-Dvoracek, Chuck Hanson, Doug Nelson, Alan Nelson, Roger Christopherson and Dave Voelker are serving as pallbearers.
