Wood River

Charles Eugene Bone, 84, died at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at VIP Manor in Wood River.
Born on September 9, 1929, he was the son of Morris L. Bone and Bessie (Walton) Bone Spinner.
A Korean War Army veteran, he attended 1st United Methodist Church in East Alton, and was a member of East Alton American Legion Post 794.
Surviving are three daughters, Gena (Richard) Means, Ronda McGinnis, all of Edwardsville, and Donna Heuiser of Alabama; two grandchildren, Corinne and Erin Heuiser; a brother, Gary (Lois) Bone of Effingham; and stepsister, Anna Lou Eller of Salem.
His parents, and stepfather, Stephen Spinner, preceded him in death.
Committal services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 16, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis County. Rev. Bill Pyatt will officiate.
Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
