Melissa Diane Nelson Butler, 28 of Lucedale, MS passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013. She was a 2003 graduate of George County High School and continued her education at Remington College in Mobile, AL where she received her degree to pursue a career in cosmetology. She was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter and great friend to many. She will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Butler is preceded in death by her father Joseph Nelson of Lucedale, MS, paternal grandparents Sam and June Nelson of Helena, MS and maternal grandparents Clem and Libba Merrill of Helena, MS.
She leaves cherished memories with her husband Jonathan Butler and their children Conner, Zoey and Bailey, all of Lucedale, MS. She will also be greatly missed by her mother Lisa Nelson of Lucedale, MS, brothers; Joe (Mary) Nelson of Lucedale, MS, Jeremy Nelson of Leakesville, MS, nieces and nephews; Lauren Nelson, Kyle Nelson, Makenzie Murrah, Cherokee Butler, Casen Nelson, Dennis Nelson, Brently Scot and Lilly Mouser, mother-in-law Debra Butler and father-in-law William Butler, sister-in-laws Jennifer Butler, Cindy Maker and Delores Seals and brother-in-law William Butler. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, friends and her precious dog Lola.
Visitation for Melissa Butler will be Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Helena, MS.
