Christian (Chris) Carl Gorsegner, age 58, of Blaine, MN, passed away on July 23, 1996. Preceded in death by father Russell, mother Laila and sister Bonnie Jean. Survived by wife Emily Mae (Petr); daughters, Pamela Ann Gorsegner of Shoreview, Kim Marie (Jon) Carlson of Blaine, Sharon Lyn Gorsegner(fiance Kevin Brown) of Blaine, and Bonnie Lee (Gregg) Brandia of Andover; brothers, James Russell (Charlotte) and Russell LeRoy (Julie) Gorsegner, all of Coon Rapids; sisters, Paddy Lou Burkman of Mpls., Shirley Mae (Gordon) Fink of Glen Flora, WI; and 7 granddaughters, Jill and Kaylee Carlson, Kali and Kala Gorsegner, Amanda Fortin, Justine and Mariah Brandia.

Chris enjoyed his family, camping, hunting, fishing and taxidermy and he loved to help others. He was a very special and compassionate man, husband, father, grandfather, son-in-law, brother, uncle, and friend to many. As a boy he was called 'Sonny' but that changed to 'Chris' as he grew up.

A 1956 Tony High School graduate, he married his high school sweetheart Emily Mae Petr on March 16, 1957 at her parent's home in Sheldon, WI. They took over her parent's farm for a year before moving to Mpls., MN, then to Berwyn, IL, then to Mpls. again. They bought their first home in Coon Rapids, MN, where they lived from early 1963 to fall 1972 when they moved to Bemidji, MN, for two years (because his employer Cedar Service Pole Yard, where he was a supervisor, moved the business there). They moved back to the city in Sept. 1974 when Cedar Service closed, and bought a home in Blaine, MN, in early 1975 and he lived there until death. Chris worked as a heavy equipment operator for the city of Coon Rapids for over 20 years.

Memorial service attended by over 300 people on July 25, 1996, at Christ Lutheran Church in Blaine, MN. He was cremated and his ashes were dispersed into his favorite fishing lake, Limestone Lake in MN, and at the grave of his parents in Oakland Cemetery in Stanley, WI.
