Born May 19, 1943 in New Bethlehem, PA, she was the daughter of Blanche Virginia Ours Canfield Johnson of Inwood, WV and the late Cecil Howard Canfield.
She was a member of Love Assembly of God in Berkeley Springs. She was a 1961 graduate of Elkins High School in Elkins, WV and also attended Purdue University. She had been a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and most especially spoiling her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert Lynn Bland at home, three sons, Robert Cecil Bland of Berkeley Springs, Marcus Jeremy Bland of Hagerstown, MD and Nathaniel Ryan Bland I and his wife Mandy of Berkeley Springs, one sister, Shelby Weese of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, five grandchildren, Jason Christopher Bland, Nathaniel Ryan Bland II, Shawn Matthew Bland, Andrew Daniel Bland and Kyle Robert Bland, all of Berkeley Springs and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Love Assembly of God, 73 Buzzard Acres Lane, Berkeley Springs, WV with Pastor Dave Kidwell officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV and one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
