Marian W. Chandler, Endicott: 91, stepped on heaven's shore to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday August 3, 2011 after a courageous battle with a long illness. She was predeceased by her husbands Capt. Joseph Dahlstrom and Rev. Vernon Chandler. She was also predeceased by her parents Francis and Bessie Hulslander. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Mark and Jan Chandler, Ithaca, NY; daughters and son in law Jolene Dahlstrom, Binghamton, Sandra and Larry Rowland, Rockford MI, sister Dorothy Crawford, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She was a graduate of Binghamton High School in 1938. Marian and Vern loved their time of 35 years they spent in Japan as missionaries. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all. She loved being a homemaker, and was greatly gifted in hospitality. She loved China painting and Japanese flower arranging, singing and playing the piano by ear. The family wishes to thank the caregivers of the STAR unit at the Johnston Nursing Home for their loving care. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11am at the Maine First Baptist Church, Maine, NY. The Rev. Loren Winn will officiate. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday at 10am until the time of the service at the church. Arrangements are by the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., Johnson City. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Maine First Baptist Church Building Fund, 16 Church Street, Maine, NY 13802.
