Vernon Edward Rhodes, 82, of Chula Vista died Wednesday. He was born in Harrison, Idaho, and was a sheet-metal worker for the federal government. He served in the Navy during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Leette Jurdis; son, Joe Rhodes of Chula Vista; and three grandchildren.

Visitation 2-8pm today and tomorrow, Humphrey Mortuary, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista. Services 11am Tuesday at the mortuary. Interment immediately after services, La Vista Memorial Park, 3191 Orange St., National City. Published in The San Diego Union Tribune on Dec. 21, 2003.
