Mr. Gushwa was an employee of the Tippecanoe County Highway Department, retiring in 1955. He also worked as a carpenter.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Lucille (Mrs. William) Imaly of Courtland, Edith (Mrs. Lloyd) Glass of Lafayette, and Sylvia (Mrs. Robert) Hendershot of West Lafayette; five sons, Elmer Gushwa, Richard Gushwa, both of Fowler, John Gushwa, Charles Gushwa and Ronald Gushwa, all of Lafayette; two brothers, Theodore Gushwa of Arizona and Howard Gushwa of Detroit, MI; two sisters, Laurabelle (Mrs. William) Stingley of Lafayette and Daisy (Mrs. Henry) Stark of Wyoming, MI; and 11 grandchildren. Two sons preceded him in death. Service May 21, Soller-Baker Main Chapel, the Rev. Joseph Park officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
