"Mrs. Ada Richardson Dies in New York City. Services Here Sat.
Mrs. Ada Richardson, a former resident of Richburg, died March 9th in New York City at the age of 91. Mrs. Richardson or "Aunt Ada" as she was known in this locality, was born May 31, 1865 at the Jordan home on Jordan Hill. She was the youngest of the six children of Andrew J. and Eleanor Stevenes [sic] Jordan. Married to Walter Richardson about 1890, she made her home in the village of Richburg. Her two daughters, Eleanor who died in 1915 and Mrs. Freda Plunkett who survives, were born there.
Upon the death of her husband in 1920, Mrs. Richardson moved to New York to live with her daughter and continued to make that city her home until the time of her death. She was widely known in this area for her friendliness and her interest in people and her passing will be mourned by many.
At the time of her death, Mrs. Richardson was the eldest member of the First Day Baptist Church of Richburg, both in age and number of years association with the church.
Funeral services will he held in New York and her body cremated. Brief services will be conducted by Rev. Roger Seibert of the First Day Baptist Church at the Richburg Cemetery in Saturday, March 16, at eleven o'clock.
In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Richardson is survived by a cousin, Mrs. Fanny Dunning of Bolivar and by three nephews."
