She was a native of Norfolk County and had been a resident of Oaklette for 28 years. She was a daughter of the late Dr. George Nolley and Margaret Courtney Jane Wilson Halstead. She was a member of Oaklette Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. R.E. Collier, of Norfolk; four sons, Halstead Rountrey, of Norfolk; Claud J. Rountrey, Jr., of Richmond; George W. Rountrey, of Virginia Beach, and W. Franklin Rountrey, of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. N.G. Wilson, Mrs. S.N. Etheridge and Mrs. W.L. Lamerdin, all of Norfolk, and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home this afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. C.W. Hillman, pastor of Chesapeake Avenue Methodist Church.
Interment will be in the family plot in Magnolia Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rountrey, wife of Claude Joseph Rountrey, 815 Oaklette Avenue, Oaklette, who died at a local hospital Friday afternoon, were conducted at the Cox Funeral Home yesterday at 2 p.m. The Rev. C.W. Hillman, pastor of Chesapeake Avenue Methodist Church, officiated. The pallbearers were N.G. Wilson, Jr., W.L. Lamerdin, Dr. S.N. Etheridge, Hubert Rountrey, John F Stevens and L. Belmont Williams. Interment was in the family plot in Magnolia Cemetery.
