David Lee Cain, age 44, died Saturday, April 2, 2011 in Wellston, OK after a long battle with cancer.

His Legacy… He was born April 26, 1966 in Napoleon to Eugene and Janice (Bauer) Cain. He graduated from Holgate High School in 1984. David was a 20 year veteran of the US Army. He was a staff sergeant, tank commander. He was the owner of DL Cain Construction in Kentucky. On February 3, 2004 he married Christy Gruenfelder. David bought 15 acres in Jones, OK and was a vegetable farmer and raised horses and beef cattle

David is survived by his wife Christy Wellston, OK; parents of Holgate; children, Michael and Benjamin Cain, OK, Andrew L. Cain, New Bavaria, Amber and Justis Gruenfelder, TX, and Jackie Gruenfelder, OK; grandson, Bentley Gruenfelder, OK; sister, Jenee (Matt) Seibert, Defiance; and brother, Douglas (Janet) Cain, Columbia, TN. He was preceded in death by a brother Andrew B. Cain, two uncles Dan and Jim Bauer and grandparents Byron and Ruth Bauer and Wilma Bauer and Gene Cain.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 am in Emanuel's Christian Church, New Bavaria with Pastor Ed Briggeman officiating. Friends will be received from 9:30-11:00 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in David's honor to the National Brain Tumor Society or Emanuel's Christian Church, New Bavaria.
