The Service of Remembrance for Mr. Thomas C. Farris, age 65, of Hernando, Florida, will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes. Interment will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with full Military Honors afforded by the Marion County Honor Guard. There will be a Memorial Service held at Weaver Church of the Nazoreans in Weaver, WV on a later date. Mr. Farris was born April 2, 1948 in Morgantown, WV, son of Robert and Mary (Harris) Farris. He died September 8, 2013 in Gainesville, FL following an extended illness. Mr. Farris served in the U. S. Navy from 1966 - 1972 and served with the First Marine Division in Vietnam from 1967 -1968. He was employed with U. S. Postal Service from 1978 until his retirement in 2002.
Mr. Farris was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Bressler on December 22, 2002. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Nina F. Farris of Hernando, 3 sons, Ron (Violet) Bressler of Galloway, WV, Russell (Jessica) Bressler of Junior, WV, and Rocky Farris of Hernando, 2 daughters, Kathy (Jennifer) Bressler of Cincinnati, OH, Kim (Steven) Yocum of Belington, WV, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
