Beverly Dickson (DeBondt), of Maple Falls, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2004.

She was born October 15, 1945 in Sumas, Washington to Cornelius "Casey" and Katherine DeBondt. She graduated from Lynden High School in 1963.

From 1965 to 1984 she was married to Jim Vander Giessen and had two children. In 1992 she married again to Terry Cowen until his sudden death in 1996. June 1, 2002 she married Gary Dickson.

Beverly was always active with local service groups such as the Jaycees. In the early 1980's she was instrumental in creating, and for many years directing, a summer camp for special needs people called Camp Horizon. The project was a source of great pride for her and it continues to this day.

She was a voracious reader and left the library each week with an armload of new books.

On January 1, 2000, after a lifetime of working in the restaurant business, Beverly fulfilled a lifelong goal of having her own restaurant, the Frosty Inn located in Maple Falls, Washington. It has been a wonderful success!

Beverly is survived by her devoted husband Gary Dickson; her children Kathy and husband Mike Lindstrom of Coto de Caza, California and Jim and wife Trisha Vander Giessen of Auburn, Washington; and two brothers, John and wife Joanne DeBondt of Lynden and Tom and wife Glenda DeBondt of Avondale, Arizona. Bev was the proud grandmother of seven beautiful grandchildren; Lindsay, Bret, Lauren, Roman, Jessica, John, and Aidan.

Graveside services will be held Friday, August 20, at Greenacres|Moles Cemetary at 10:00 am. The following day on August 21, a potluck celebration of her incredible life will be held at the Boy Scout Camp at Silver Lake in Maple Falls from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.
