Obituary:

Katherine Sheppard, the daughter of the late H. Berkley and Jewel Turner Talkington, was born in Russellville, Arkansas, on September 14, 1926, and died at her daughter's home on Thursday, September 1, 2005, at the age of 78.

Mrs. Sheppard grew up in Risco and graduated from high school there. She moved to St. Louis and lived a short time in California before moving to Mississippi 30 years ago. She graduated college in St. Louis with a bachelor's degree in accounting and was retired from Gates Lumber Company where she worked as an accountant and credit manager. She was a member of the Hernando Baptist Church in Hernando, Mississippi.

On November 27, 1973, she was married to Jack Dean Sheppard in Memphis, Tennessee, and he preceded her in death on March 29, 1992.

Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Monday, September 5, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, September 5, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with the Bro. Herman Morse of Dexter, pastor of the Church of Christ in Essex, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
