Daughter of William Archibald Evans and Malissa Susan (Scott) Evans. Jane Evans was in her thirties when she married William Asa McCool, after his first wife died. She became step-mother to many children, and she and William had four children. Two died as infants and two survived, Clint Riley McCool and Mary Ellen McCool. According to Sarah Minerva McCool Schell (one of her step-children), Jane was a good step-mother and mother to all of the children, and did her best to treat them well, and show no favoritism. She was loved by her step-children, as well as her children.
