She was born May 3, 1906 in Gonzales, Louisiana, a daughter of John Ulger and Regina Kling Gautreaux. In 1924, Agnes married John W. Ficklin in Louisiana. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1941. John preceded her in death on July 31, 1968. She was reared and educated in Louisiana moving to Utah in 1945. Agnes was a member of the LDS Church, serving in many and various callings. She enjoyed the out of doors, fishing, riding horses and especially dancing. Agnes loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are one son and one daughter, Noris (Sharlene) Ficklin, North Ogden; Doris (Clifford) Higbee, Salt Lake City; 11 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Agnes is also survived by one sister, Sibbie David, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East in Sandy. Friends may call at the mortuary on Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff at Manor Care Nursing Center for the loving care given to Agnes. Directors, Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary.
