Joseph gained ownership of his parent's lot in Mendon, PA after the passing of his father and mother, and releases to the property from his brothers and sisters. In 1874 Joseph and family moved to Cooper Co., MO. They went with his sister Elizabeth's family of Daniel Hough and Daniel's daughter, Amanda (Hough) and Alfred Vance and family. In 1883 Joseph and Ursula (Hough) sold their Mendon lot to Daniel S. Rhodes. Joseph was the father of twelve children. Three children died in infancy. Joseph and Ursilla (Hough) are buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Bunceton, Cooper Co., MO
