Permelia Mary Babb was born January 27. 1908 in Gorman, Eastman County, Texas to James Joseph Babb and Mary Louisa Weaver. She was the youngest of eight children.
Her mother died when she was eight years old while they were living in Palo Pinto County, Texas. After her mother's death, the family moved to Houston County, Texas.
In October of 1927, Mary married Elmo Adams and together they had one child, Babb Hardster Adams.
At some point, after 1940, Mary and Elmo moved to Florida. There they raised their son and lived the remainder of Mary's life. After her death, Elmo returned to Texas where he died.
