John was also known as 'Colonial Jack' because of his 9000 mile trek around the perimeter of the United States in 1908-1909. He began and ended his journey in Maine. That adventure resulted in much media attention for the day. Some of this information is available on the internet.

John was born and raised in St. Peter, Minnesota as were his siblings. Anna Cecilia, Regina Krohn Pettijohn, Emily Krohn Hobart, & Matie/Mathilda Daniels Krohn Harwell.

Sometime after the birth of his daughter, Beatrice, in 1902 and John and his family had moved to the East Coast. He was married four times. His first wife, Martha Emma Morton, was the love of his life. They met when John came with a group to sing at the church Martha attended. They were married on November 28, 1901.

John & Martha had two daughters:
1)Beatrice Daniels Krohn born 8/16/1902 in McLeod County, Minnesota. She married Harold Jones in 1927. Beatrice death date was 2/26/1980. Martha died on July 22, 1917

Beatrice and Harold were the parents of David Jones
BD 12/30/1927- 9/2/2007

2) Margaret Leona Krohn born 2/6/1916 in Massuchsetts. She married Viva H Lawyer on July 20, 1943.

They were the parents of Michael Kevin born April 4, 1944 and Geraldine Martha born on November 4, 1947.

Following Martha's death, John married Elizabeth Eaton
They later divorced.

John then married Harriet E. Highland on July 15, 1936. She died on 7/21/1941.

His fourth wife was Laura (Turner) Whitney. They were married on July 14, 1947. She survived John and died on December 6, 1962.
