Alvera (Allen) Campbell Kleweno Hayes

Alvera Hayes, 87, of Littleton, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, in Littleton, Colorado. Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 1:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor John Roberts. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at the Akron Cemetery, Akron.

Alvera was born on Sept. 30, 1925, in Akron to Walter Lee Allen and Elda Viola Forth. She attended Curtis School through the eighth grade and graduated from Akron High School in 1943. She worked at various retail jobs during high school and shortly after. She also worked at the Selective Service office in Akron, the Experiment Station in Akron, and the ASCS offices in Sterling and Burlington, retiring in 1988. She married John Campbell on April 21, 1946, and they were married until his death in 1980. Later, she married Ralph Kleweno on Nov. 10, 1984, to his death in 1987. On Nov. 27, 2010, she married Arthur Hayes until her death on Sept. 9. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sterling. She received various awards during her employment at the ASCS office. She enjoyed cooking and crocheting. She was a wonderful cook and loved to dance and play cards.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur; son, Greg Campbell and wife Kay of Sterling; daughters, Gayle Japp and husband Roger of Sterling and Janelle Arnold and husband Ted of Temecula, Calif.; stepsons, Roger Kleweno and wife Melissa of Burlington, Ray Hayes of Baltimore, Md., Glenn Hayes of Palmer Lake; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter Lee and Elda Allen; husband, John Campbell; sons, Clarence Lee Campbell, John Allen Campbell; brothers, Glenn Allen, Walter Lynn Allen, Asie Allen, Lacy Levelle Allen, Veryl Allen; and husband, Ralph Kleweno.

Memorials may be made to the Akron Elks Lodge Scholarship Fund in care of Tennant Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
