David B. Strawn, 47, personnel director for Fiberform Boats, died Tuesday in a Wenatchee hospital.

Born in Tacoma, he lived in Spokane much of his life.

He attended Willard Grade School and was graduated from North Central High School in 1950. He received a degree from Whitworth College in 1954.

Mr. Strawn served in the Army from 1954 to 1956 and worked for the Spokane Daily Chronicle from 1957 to 1964, primarily as a copy editor. He worked for Fiberform the past five years and previously had written a weekly column for The Outdoor Post.

Survivors include his wife, Jean, at the Spokane Valley home; two sons, Steven and Scott, and one daughter, Sandra, all at the home; his mother, Rhea French, Spokane; and a brother, Phillip, also Spokane.

Services tentatively are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Thornhill's in the Valley.
