Stephen Kenneth Norman
1944 ~ 2013
At 68 years young, Steve was taken from us much too early.
With his mischievous smile and wonderful sense of humor, Steve never hesitated to pull someone's leg.
Sadly, Steve passed away Friday, September 6, 2013. He was born in Seattle, Washington on November 13, 1944 to Mary Friel and Kenneth Norman. He served two years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. When he returned to Seattle, he completed a bachelor's degree in history at the University of Washington.
Steve was a member of the Lynnwood Washington Police Department for 25 years and achieved the rank of "Commander Of Police." He trained and mentored many of Lynnwood's current officers.
Upon retiring, Steve relocated to Utah where he fell in love and married his wife, Suzanna. He enjoyed many friendships at Deer Valley Resort where he worked in Guest Services for 18 years.
Steve is survived by his wife, his son Kelly, his daughter Lisa, his grandson Garrett, his granddaughter Maddy, and his brother Michael.
The family extends immense gratitude to the competent and caring doctors and staff in the Critical Care Unit of the Sorenson Heart and Lung Center at Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City.
Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, September 15 at Deer Valley Resorts Snow Park Lodge in the Clock Room. Steve's family, friends, and co-works are cordially invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the MS Society of Utah (http://www.mymsaa.org/) or the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation (http://www.cpirf.org/)
