Russell N. Jacobson son of Joseph and Gunhild (Rosell) Jacobson was born December 28, 1939 in Dawson, ND. He attended school in Dawson, ND and graduated from Dawson High School in 1958. He enlisted in the US Army on June 28, 1958 and was a member of the 141st Engineer Combat Battalion. He was discharged on May 8, 1959. He married Sharon Bitz on May 17, 1960 in Steele, ND. He worked for Arneson's Plumbing and Heating, Bob's Plumbing and Heating and Greenwood Plumbing, all Jamestown, Northern Improvement, Bismarck and later Border States Paving, Fargo until his illness in 1999.
He married Kathy Lautt on November 21, 1998 in Kulm, ND. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, Kulm, ND and American Legion Clifford Ost Post 260, Fredonia. Russell enjoyed crossword puzzles, woodworking, especially fiddle and polka music and was a great cook. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Russell Jacobson, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family under the care of Prairieview Hospice, Wishek, ND. He was 70 years old.
Russell is survived by his wife, Kathy; 2 daughters, Robin and Dawn; 5 sons, Jeff, Terry, Lonny, Bryan and Joe; 1 daughter-in-law Tina; 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; 2 step daughters, Kari and Kimberly; 3 step sons, Jeff Lautt, Jarry and Jason (Kali) Lautt; 12 step grandchildren; his mother-in-law Verna Bader, Wishek, ND; 1 sister Mary Ann Brunner, Napoleon, ND; 2 brothers, Edwin Jacobson, Jamestown, ND and Marvin (Lavonne) Jacobson, Valley City, ND and 1 sister-in-law Marlys (Don) Wolf, Bismarck, ND.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 1 son, Rod; 1 grandson, Dustin; 4 brothers, Clifford, Harold, Art and Arnie; 2 sisters, Irene Lipp and Lillian Wanzek and father-in-law Ray Bader.
