Mrs. Lena Kaufmann, 88, formerly of Rt. 1, Mishicot, who for the past four
years resided at St. Mary Home, Manitowoc, died Sunday night at Holy Family
Hospital, Manitowoc, where she had been a patient for several hours.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 am Wednesday at Deja and Martin Funeral Chapels,
Two Rivers, and at 10 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. The Rev.
Anthony Betley will officiate and burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Kaufmann was born June 16, 1878, daughter of the late Michael and Anna
Leonhard Koch. She attended the French Settlement School and Jan. 31, 1898 was
married to Mr. Kaufmann at Mishicot. The couple operated a farm in the Town of
Mishicot and prior to Mr. Kaufmann’s death in 1936 operated a farm in the Town
of Gibson. She was a member of the Holy Cross Altar Society.
Survivors include a son, Ray, of Mishicot; a sister, Mrs. Eva Kadow, of Englewood,
Colo.; two brothers, Michael Koch of Rt. 1, Mishicot and Albert Koch of Two
Rivers; six grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral chapels after 3 pm Tuesday where the Rosary will
be recited at 8 pm.
