A devoted husband, he met his wife, Jacklyn, in an Irish bagpipe band in Los Angeles-- a hobby he was happily associated with. A modern renaissance man, Dr. Donoghue was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, loved spending time with his family and working on everything from a carburetor to a kitchen sink. A self-taught musician, a party was never complete without Dr. Donoghue playing at least a couple instruments and leading everyone in Irish folk songs.
Married for almost 59 years, Dr. Donoghue passed away exactly how he wanted to-- holding his wife's hand in the home where he raised his family. Dr. Donoghue is survived by his wife; his sister, Dorothy; and his five children and 19 grandchildren. A friend or physician to all, may his many stories live long and true.
"May your soul rest in the mercy of God, and may perpetual light shine upon you."
Interment will be at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in the Gethsemane Lawn Crypts on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 9:30AM
