MUNCIE - Stephen Dick, 60, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Tuesday, September 10, 2013.
He was born April 7, 1953, in Muncie, the son of Malcolm and Irene (Mooneyham) Dick and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era.
Stephen earned a Master's Degree in journalism and has worked as the editor for the Anderson Herald Bulletin for several years. He enjoyed walking on the railroad tracks and riding his bike. Stephen also loved animals and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer (Horner) Dick, whom he married May 23, 1981; his son, Jeffrey Dick, Austin, Texas; his mother, Irene Dick; one sister, Connie Clements (husband, Rod); two sisters-in-law, Kathy Morris and Lydia Smith; four nephews, Kevin Clements, Alex Brand, Julien Brand, and Scott Sears; one niece, Brittany Clements; and his special friend, Jeff Carpenter; and Kalee Goodman, who Stephen loved like a daughter.
He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Deborah Dick; and his beloved dog, Possum; and his cat, Boots.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave, Muncie, and will be officiated by Jeffrey Dick. Military Rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Delaware County and burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
Family and friends may call for one hour prior to services on Saturday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
