A.J. "Peanut" Leopold, 82, of Hallettsville, passed away Sept. 10, 2013. He was born on March 13, 1931 to Willie & Josephine Meismer Leopold in Nada, TX. He married Shirley Ann Neuman on July 28, 1962 in Hallettsville. He was a veteran of the Korean War, member of the Knights of Columbus and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.
Peanut is survived by: 3 sons, Glenn Leopold & wife Donna, Mike Leopold, and Cody Leopold & wife Whitney, all of Hallettsville; daughter Laurie Sassin & husband Jerome Jr. of Schulenburg; brother Leroy L. Leopold of Hallettsville; sister Joline Etzler of Victoria; and 8 grandchildren.
Peanut was preceded in death by: wife Shirley; infant son Randy Paul Leopold; parents; 3 brothers, Pius "Pete", Leonard, and Rev. Wilbert J. Leopold; and 3 sisters, Evanell Bittner, Frieda Lynn Leopold, and Sister M. Doloretta Leopold.
Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Wednesday, at Kubena Funeral Home.
