Nicolaniello Buono, the son of Francesco and Teresa Buono, passed away at home peacefully in his sleep after enjoying a fantastic meal with his family on September 6, 2013 at the age of 80. He was born on May 13, 1933 in Ischia, Italy and had been a long time resident of San Pedro, California. He was the founder of Buono Pizzeria Restaurants in San Pedro and Long Beach. Nicolaniello is survived by his beloved wife, Antonia Buono; children, Frank Buono, George (Mia) Buono, Teresa (Mario) Buono-Juarez, and Oreste Buono; grandchildren, Matthew, Jonathan, Isabella, Nicolaniello, Giorgio and Giovanni and siblings, Apollonia Buono, Anna Pisano, Guiseppina Buono, Maria Newberry, Giorgio Buono and Domenica Aversano. He is preceded in death by his brother Pietro Buono. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 5 - 9pm with a rosary to begin at 7pm. The Church Service will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 10:30am at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in San Pedro, California followed by interment at Green Hills Memorial Park.
