Major League Baseball Player. For four seasons (1979 to 1980, 1982 and 1986), he played at the outfielder position with the Seattle Mariners, Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox. Born Rodney Paul Craig, he attended Narbonne High School in California, prior to being signed as an amateur free agent by Seattle. He progressed rapidly through the Minor Leagues and jumped from A to AAA in 1979, as he yielded 132 hits with a .315 batting average with San Jose and Spokane. He was rewarded for his efforts as a late season call-up by the Mariners and marked his Major League debut with Seattle in September 11th, 1979. Craig made the most of his opportunity and recorded 20 hits with an impressive .385 batting average in 16 games that season. The following year (1980), he secured the starting center-fielder position and produced a career-high 57 hits in 70 games that season. Craig went onto experience Major League stints with Cleveland and the Chicago White Sox, prior to his retirement. His life after baseball saw him living in conditions of poverty and homelessness. His death was the result of a homicide on the streets of Los Angeles.
